Shipping Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

This Shipping Policy explains how testing kits ordered through MicrobiomeTest.us are processed, shipped, delivered, and returned to the laboratory.

By placing an order through MicrobiomeTest.us, you agree to the terms described in this policy.

1. Order processing

Orders are processed after payment has been successfully received and the order information has been reviewed.

Order-processing times may vary depending on:

  • The test ordered

  • Testing-kit availability

  • The delivery location

  • Payment verification

  • Required consent forms or documents

  • Weekends and public holidays

Orders placed outside regular business hours may be processed on the next business day.

An order confirmation will normally be sent to the email address provided during checkout. Tracking information may be provided after the testing kit has been dispatched.

2. Shipping rates and delivery estimates

Available shipping methods, estimated delivery times, and applicable shipping charges will normally be displayed during checkout.

Delivery estimates are provided for general guidance only and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Shipping may be affected by circumstances outside our control, including:

  • Courier or postal delays

  • Severe weather

  • Transportation disruptions

  • Customs processing

  • Incorrect delivery details

  • Remote delivery locations

  • Public holidays

  • Labour disruptions

  • Natural disasters or other unexpected events

MicrobiomeTest.us is not responsible for delays caused by couriers, postal services, customs authorities, or other third-party delivery providers.

3. Laboratory turnaround time

Laboratory turnaround time begins only after the customer’s sample has arrived at the laboratory and has been accepted for processing.

The estimated laboratory turnaround time does not include:

  • Order-processing time

  • Delivery of the testing kit to the customer

  • Time taken by the customer to collect the sample

  • Return shipping to the laboratory

  • Courier, postal, or customs delays

  • Time required to receive missing consent forms

  • Sample recollection or retesting

Shipping delays are outside the laboratory turnaround period.

Any turnaround time shown on the website, order confirmation, testing materials, or other communication is an estimate and not a guaranteed completion date.

4. Receiving your testing kit

Customers should inspect their testing kit promptly after delivery.

Contact MicrobiomeTest.us if:

  • The package appears damaged

  • The package appears to have been opened

  • Collection materials are missing

  • The wrong kit was delivered

  • The collection materials are damaged or unusable

We may request photographs of the package, shipping label, and kit contents before approving a replacement.

Customers should not use damaged, contaminated, expired, or previously opened collection materials.

5. Incorrect or incomplete addresses

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address when placing an order.

Additional charges may apply if an order is delayed, lost, refused, or returned because:

  • An incorrect address was provided

  • The address was incomplete

  • The recipient refused the delivery

  • The package was not collected

  • The courier could not access the delivery location

Customers should contact us immediately after discovering an address error. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has entered processing or has been dispatched.

6. Collecting and returning samples

Customers must follow all collection, labelling, packaging, storage, and return instructions included with the testing kit.

Microbiome samples may require specific handling to protect the quality and stability of the sample.

Failure to follow the instructions may result in:

  • Delayed laboratory processing

  • Sample rejection

  • Sample contamination

  • An inconclusive result

  • Recollection

  • Additional laboratory or shipping charges

Customers should confirm whether prepaid return shipping is included with the test ordered.

When prepaid shipping is not included, the customer is responsible for arranging and paying for the return shipment.

Customers should retain their return-shipping receipt and tracking details until the laboratory confirms that the sample has been received.

7. Kit return instructions

Clients must follow the return instructions provided with their specific testing kit.

Return instructions may include requirements concerning:

  • Sample containers

  • Labelling

  • Packaging

  • Storage temperature

  • Return timing

  • Shipping method

  • Required documentation

  • The laboratory return address

Using an unauthorized shipping method or sending the sample to an incorrect location may cause delay, damage, sample rejection, or loss.

8. Prenatal testing samples

When a prenatal testing service or prenatal kit is provided, customers must follow the collection, packaging, and return instructions contained inside that prenatal kit.

General kit-return instructions must not be substituted for prenatal instructions unless specifically authorized by MicrobiomeTest.us or the laboratory.

Failure to follow the prenatal kit instructions may result in:

  • Delayed processing

  • Sample rejection

  • Recollection

  • Additional laboratory charges

  • Additional shipping charges

9. Consent forms and required documentation

Some tests require completed consent forms, identification, health information, or other supporting documentation.

The laboratory may be unable to begin processing until all required forms and documents have been received and reviewed.

Missing, incomplete, unsigned, inaccurate, or inconsistent documentation may delay testing.

Time required to obtain missing documentation is outside the estimated laboratory turnaround period.

10. Samples that fail or require retesting

Some samples may fail laboratory quality requirements or require additional testing.

A sample may fail because of:

  • Insufficient sample material

  • Improper collection

  • Contamination

  • Incorrect packaging

  • Damage during transportation

  • Incorrect or missing labelling

  • Delayed sample return

  • Missing documentation

  • Laboratory quality-control requirements

  • Technical limitations associated with the sample

When appropriate, the customer may be asked to:

  • Provide another sample

  • Complete additional documentation

  • Use a replacement kit

  • Repeat the collection process

  • Approve additional testing

Replacement-kit, recollection, laboratory, and shipping charges may apply depending on the circumstances.

11. Lost, delayed, or damaged packages

Contact MicrobiomeTest.us if a testing kit has not arrived within a reasonable period after the expected delivery date.

We may need to review carrier tracking information or contact the delivery provider before deciding whether a replacement kit can be issued.

A package shown as delivered by the carrier may require an investigation before a replacement is approved.

MicrobiomeTest.us is not responsible for samples lost or damaged because the customer:

  • Did not follow the supplied return instructions

  • Used an unauthorized shipping method

  • Sent the sample to the wrong address

  • Used inadequate packaging

  • Failed to retain tracking information

  • Delayed returning the sample beyond the recommended period

12. Reseller testing process

MicrobiomeTest.us operates through a reseller testing process.

Testing kits, samples, and related information may be handled by independent laboratories, fulfilment providers, couriers, or other service partners.

Results are returned through the reseller process and are then provided to the customer through the applicable reporting method.

Laboratory personnel may not be able to provide customers directly with:

  • Order updates

  • Test results

  • Refund decisions

  • Replacement kits

  • Customer-service resolutions

Questions about an order placed through MicrobiomeTest.us should be directed to MicrobiomeTest.us.

13. International shipping and customs

International shipping may be available for certain testing kits and destinations.

International shipments may be affected by:

  • Customs inspections

  • Import or export restrictions

  • Biological-sample shipping rules

  • Duties and taxes

  • Brokerage costs

  • Courier limitations

  • Local regulations

Customers are responsible for confirming that a testing kit and sample may legally be shipped to and returned from their location.

Unless otherwise stated during checkout, customers are responsible for applicable customs charges, taxes, duties, brokerage fees, and other international shipping costs.
